The 11th Tartu Conference on Multivariate Statistics aims to bring together statisticians working on various classical or modern fields of multivariate statistics in the broad sense.

The conference is hosted by the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics, University of Tartu, Estonia. Tartu University is among the oldest universities in the Nordic-Baltic area, holding the position as the Estonia’s leading centre of research and training for already more than 350 years. The tradition of Tartu multivariate statistics conferences dates back to 1977, becoming truly international since 1994, where C.R.Rao was one of the keynote speakers.

The conference will take place in the Delta Centre of the University of Tartu. This is the newest building of the University of Tartu, with modern facilities and beautiful views over the river Emajõgi and Tartu old town. July is a beautiful month for visiting Tartu and Estonia, especially as in 2024 Tartu was elected as the European Capital of Culture.

On behalf of the organizing committees,
Krista Fischer
Professor of mathematical statistics, University of Tartu

In its annual meeting on 16 March 2022, Latvian Statisticians’ Association condemned in the strongest possible terms the full-scale invasion and the military aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and its sovereignty and independence. Equally we strongly condemn the involvement of Belarus in supporting this aggression.

Latvian Statisticians’ Association stands for internationally endorsed democratic values. We express our solidarity and support to all people of Ukraine. We call for the international community of statisticians, including statisticians from the Russian Federation and Belarus to take a strong stance for peace and to take immediate action on removal ties with the aggressor and its allies. We call for the international statistical community to raise this issue in every international forum.

Ukraine is fighting for all types of freedom, including freedom of speech, academic freedom, and the freedom of research. These are very important fundamental elements of democratic societies. We hope that actions of the international community of statisticians will ensure a prompt and strong response to Russia’s current aggressive policy. Let’s protect freedom!

We are glad to announce the first call for abstracts of the Conference of European Statistics Stakeholders (CESS) 2022, which will be held at the Department of Statistical Sciences of the University of Rome "La Sapienza" (Italy) on October 20-21, 2022.

The scope of the Conference is to enhance the dialogue between European methodologists, producers, and users of European Statistics.

The Conference will be in-presence, but we will allow at-distance attendance (preferably not for the speakers).
