Most participants are expected to arrive to Valmiera through Riga by plane or by ferry.
Riga Train Station and Riga Bus Station is located in Riga centre and close to each other. See the map for the directions.
Riga International Airport lies 15 km from Riga city centre. It is possible to go by the bus number 22 or taxi from the Riga Airport to the Riga Bus Station or Riga Train Station. The closest bus stop to the Riga Bus Station and Riga train station is named "Stockmann centrs". The schedule of the bus number 22 is available at saraksti.rigassatiksme.lv. It takes arround 26 minutes to get from the airport to the city centre.
The same bus number 22 can be used to go from Riga Centre to the Riga International Airport. The stop named "13.janvāra iela" is convenient to go to the airport. See the map for the directions. It takes arround 32 minutes to get from the city centre to the airport.
A regular ticket for one trip with bus can be bought from the bus driver (price LVL 0.70). You can buy the ticket in advance at the airport services or the tourism information bureau "Welcome to Riga". A regular one-way ticket will cost you only LVL 0.50 if bought in advance. The simplest way to reach the Riga Bus Station or the Riga train station from The Riga Harbour is by walking (30 min) or by taxi. It is also possible to take the Tallink Shuttle Bus at 11:30 to Tallink hotel which is close to the train station (2 min walking) and bus station (5 min walking).
