The Nordic-Baltic Region of the International Biometric Society (IBS) and the Faculty of Science, University of Helsinki welcome you to the 8th Nordic-Baltic Biometrics Virtual Conference, June 7-10, 2021. The conference is aimed at novel developments and applications of statistical and mathematical methods in the field of bioscience and offers excellent opportunities for learning about recent advances in biostatistics/biometry, exchanging research experiences and getting to know colleagues from your neighbouring countries.

Please join us on Friday, February 12, at 2:00PM EST, for an informational webinar regarding the Summer Institute for Survey Research Techniques (SISRT). The mission of the Summer Institute is to provide rigorous and high quality graduate training in all phases of survey research. The program teaches state-of-the-art practice and theory in the design, implementation, and analysis of surveys. Our faculty will host a webinar detailing the 2021 Summer Institute program. Included will be information about course offerings, schedules and special programs. Please share this with anyone you feel may benefit from this educational opportunity.
Advance registration is required.
Sampling Program for Survey Statisticians
The 2021 Sampling Program for Survey Statisticians will be offered by the Survey Research Center at the University of Michigan’s Institute for Social Research from May 19 to July 30, 2021.
This intensive ten-week training program covers the principles and practice of survey sampling, the analysis of complex sample survey data, and application of sampling methods in many settings in three courses:
– Methods of Survey Sampling
– Analysis of Complex Sample Survey Data
– Workshop in Survey Sampling Techniques

Text Mining: from basics to deep learning tools, ECAS-SFdS course, Fréjus (France)
The next ECAS-SFdS school will take place from October 10 to 15, 2021, on the French Riviera. The theme is “Text Mining: from basics to deep learning tools” and the course will present an introduction, the classical methods as well as the most recent advances in textual data processing. The contributions of new representations and how to process them using deep neural networks will be illustrated through industrial case studies.

International Statistical Institute (ISI) has assembled a number of resources on the COVID-19 pandemic containing general information on the disease, daily updates from the World Health Organization, talks and preprints. The resources are available here: https://isi-web.org/index.php/covid-19.

On behalf of the Greek Statistical Institute, we invite you and your members to participate in our 32nd annual conference, to be held from May 31st to June 2, 2019, in Ioannina, Greece. Each year the conference is hosted by the G.S.I. and a different institute. This year it is co-hosted by the Department of Mathematics of the University of Ioannina.
The aim is to bring together researchers from academia and industry in all topics in all areas of theoretical and applied statistics, from probability and operational research to bio statistics and econometric.
Both general and detailed information about the conference (on abstract submission of quality papers, regarding proposals for special sessions or seminars, social events, accommodation etc.) may be found at http://esi2019.conf.uoi.gr/?lang=en.
Following the conference, it is our practice to issue a call for the final versions of the papers presented at the conference. The papers undergo a peer review process; and a good number of them are published in our bilingual Proceedings of the Panhellenic Statistics Conference series.
