		History
		Through the years the Baltic and Nordic countries have
		developed a network for cooperation in survey sampling theory and
		methodology  
		The activities have been financially supported by the
		Visby Programme of the Swedish Institute and coordinated by the
		University of Umeå.  
		The most important cooperation events have been the
		annual workshops in survey sampling theory and methodology:

			- Palanga, Lithuania, May 27 – June 1, 1999

		In August 17 – 23, 2002 there was a larger event –
		the
		Baltic-Nordic Conference on Survey Sampling Theory and Methodology
		with 74 participants.
